Halloween Fun at the Dutton Fire Station!

The Dutton Fire Department and the Kent County Sheriff Department Traffic Squad will be hosting Halloween festivities at the Dutton Fire Station (3471 68th Street SE, Dutton) on Saturday, October 31st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There will donuts, cider and candy provided.

Resident Leaf Collection Begins Friday, October 23rd!

Gaines Charter Township will be offering a leaf collection/recycling drop off site at Township Offices (8555 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Caledonia, Mi 49316) for residents on:

•Fri. & Sat., October 23rd & 24th from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (only)
•Fri. & Sat., October 30th & 31st from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (only)
•Fri. & Sat., November 6th & 7th from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (only)

The leaf collection/recycling drop off site is limited for use by Gaines Charter Township residents only. There are no plastic bags, metal, trash, plastic, stone or concrete allowed. For more information please contact Township Offices at 616-698-6640.

Draft 2010 - 2014 Parks and Recreation Plan

Gaines Charter Township is in the process of preparing a new Parks and Recreation Plan and is inviting public review and comments on the draft Plan through November 20, 2009. During this period, a Community Open House will be held in the lower level of the Township Offices from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 5, 2009. At this event, the public will be able to view maps and images and review the goals and objectives as stated in the draft Plan. Comments can be provided in one of three ways:

• Written comments can be sent to the Planning and Zoning Department, 8555 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Caledonia, MI 49316
  
• Fill out a comment card at the November 5, 2009 Community Open House

The draft Plan will be made available at the Township Offices, the Township library, at the Community Open House and at www.gainestownship.org. Any comments received during this period will be considered prior to the adoption of the Plan by the Township Board at a future meeting.
